Starting as a micro-provider in 2018, Kate, the Registered Manager, has grown the care provider into what it is today.
You Are My sunshine Care (YAMS) has over 150 clients (both private and adult social care), and is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, (CQC), an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care of the United Kingdom. It was established in 2009 to regulate and inspect health and social care providers in England. We are also the winner of the ‘Best Small Business 2023’ at the Somerset Business Award and the 'Best Homecare Provider 2024' with Southern Enterprise.
YAMS provide what a lot of people say is: 'The best support around in the local area'. There are now 60 support workers who work alongside Kate, each bringing their own expertise to the table, and all being local to the area.
The Carers all partake in regular and continuous training with Careskills Academy and our in house Manual Handling and First Aid. The carers also have close contact with Somerset Council and the local village agent, District Nurses and GP's.
